OUR NOSTALGIC FLOUR SIFTERS MAKE BAKING A PLEASURE

"Turning the hand crank makes you feel like you can bake better than Betty Crocker." — Fox News

The best baked goods are made at home with care. Back in 1819, Jacob Bromwell patented the world's first flour sifter. The single screen combined with our uniquely-designed 4-wire agitator produces the finest, smoothest flour possible, for a consistent measure every time. Sift up to 5 cups of flour in a design that remains true to the original. And each one is hand and machine crafted from stainless steel, ensuring perfect cookies, cakes, and other delicious baked goods for years to come. Our true Lifetime Guarantee means you'll be passing it on for generations, along with family recipes. So bring back memories and create new ones by sifting flour the old-fashioned way, and soon you'll be part of the Jacob Bromwell tradition...one of the oldest traditions in America.

Sifted Out Information About Your All-American Flour Sifter:

  • This product is available exclusively on JacobBromwell.com - not sold in stores!
  • Only Bromwell manufactures these quality old-fashioned flour sifters! Many other flour sifters imitate the original Bromwell design. None are made as well, and none have the history to back them up. See how it's made here at our Factory Tour!
  • Handle is attached to the sifter using old-fashioned metalworking techniques, just like the sifters made by our company nearly 200 years ago.
  • Just pour in your desired amount of wheat, acorn, almond, chestnut, maize or rough whole grain flour, turn the handle and fill your mixing bowl. You can also fill the sifter with powdered sugar for a dust on top of a cake, pie, or whatever else you're cooking.
  • Holds 5 cups of flour and features a stainless steel body, stainless steel mesh screen, and our uniquely-designed 4-wire agitator.

Product Rating :
One great baking tip: fluff your flour to areate it before measuring. This actually replaces one of the functions of sifting, aerating the flour. But more than that, fluffing means that you'll actually use about 25% LESS flour (by weight) and this makes your cookies, cakes, muffins, etc. that much lighter. It's an amazing difference! PS Love the idea of fresh ginger in cookies, yum!

My sister has my grandmother's. I always wanted one and luckily found one in tin at an estate sale. I snatched it up, not know that you all still made them new. But, I do love the charm the aged tin has. I use mine to make my grandmother's pumpkin cake. :)

This sifter is the best. I have my mother's, bought in the fifties, and it still works perfectly. Some things can't be improved upon!

I have my grandmother's sifter, a wedding present from the 1930's. I still use it all the time, and it sits in the kitchen to remind me of her love of cooking and family.
