I was tired of electric toasters that are so underpowered that they bake the bread to a dry husk. Toast should be crisp on the outside with a still tender inner. So I gave this baby a whirl, and it does just what you would expect. It is a little disconcerting that it comes without instructions, but what's to know? I put the toaster on our kitchen gas cooker. Set a medium burner to medium heat and let the toaster warm up for a minute or two. The put the bread on the toaster with a pair of kitchen tongs - it's HOT. Watched while one side toasted. Turned it. Toasted the other side. Took the bread off the toaster. Turned off the gas. Ate the toast. Two perfect slices of toast!

Gave the toaster as a present to some friends who have a summer cottage in Canada. They rely on solar energy for power and their electrical system cannot support a regular electric toaster. They reportedly are very happy with the Bromwell toaster as an improvement over using their gas oven to produce toast for breakfast

I’ll admit that I am a retro products lover and I use many outdated but perfectly serviceable kitchen products and other household implements. Unfortunately, my old bread toaster broke a few months ago and I chose to buy this pyramid toaster instead of buying an old appliance. In terms of utility and function, this is no different to a genuine old appliance as it is manufactured in the same old way by hand. This toaster is also very solid and will last for a long time. For like minded people out there, this is the next best option if you cannot find antique, archaic bread toasters in the market.
