Pioneer Tea Kettle

As functional as it is attractive, our Pioneer Tea Kettle is handcrafted from pure copper, and is ideal for heating water for coffee, tea, or cocoa. A true collector's item you can actually use, it's made the same way it was hundreds of years ago. Pioneers carried them in their covered wagons, so they could savor a hot drink to wake up in the morning, or relax in the evening after exploring the unsettled West. Just be sure to use a kitchen glove when lifting by the handle, as the copper will be hotter than you might ever imagine!

Made in America

Each tea kettle is made by skilled Jacob Bromwell® artisans at our Vermont workshop.

A Jacob Bromwell® original design

Bromwell is the original manufacturer of these quality copper tea kettles! Other companies may imitate the original Bromwell design. None are made as well, and none have the history to back them up.

Steaming Hot Tid Bits About Your Pioneer Tea Kettle:

  • A Jacob Bromwell® product is an investment for life. Copper is sky-high on the commodities market today, and there are up to five red-blooded American workers involved in the creation of this copper masterpiece. Every step in our unique manufacturing process is still done by hand. It's a passion our company is unwilling to give up. See how it's made here at our Factory Tour!
  • A Jacob Bromwell® original design. Bromwell is the original manufacturer of these quality copper tea kettles! Other companies may imitate the original Bromwell design. None are made as well, and none have the history to back them up.
  • Both decorative and functional. This is identical to the early American tea pot and holds approximately 6 cups (36 ounces). It works over an open fire, as well as a stove top (gas, wood, or electric).
  • Heats water fast! Works great for heating water fast due to its large bottom surface area.
  • Made of pure, solid copper and features our proprietary hot-tinned interior. Considered to be a long lost art, hot-tinning is a manufacturing process pioneered by Jacob Bromwell® nearly 200 years ago. As a highly-skilled, labor-intensive process, we take sheets of tin and apply it through a process of heating directly to the copper. Hot-tinning makes each piece unique and historically-correct to the original design, and ensures your product is food and beverage safe.
  • Important disclaimer. Do not boil dry or over-boil. If the tea kettle is boiled dry, it will cause the seams to leak. If boiling water, always keep the body of the tea kettle full of water. When cooking over an open fire, keep the fluid level as high as possible, turn the side-seam away from the hottest flame if possible. On a long spout tea or coffee pot try to have the water level somewhere in the spout.
  • Copper will never rust. Copper is resistant to corrosion and will never rust. If left untreated, the copper finish will naturally oxidize and age beautifully. You can polish it up to restore its shiny finish, or let it earn a beautiful patina.
  • Product care: Hand wash only. Do not place in dishwasher.
  • Dimensions and weight: 7.5 x 7 x 4.25 (inches), 3.00 (pounds).
  • Minor cosmetic imperfections may occur. Small imperfections are a natural part of the handmade process and lend charm, depth, and individuality to each piece.
  • This product is guaranteed for life. Your purchase is backed by our 100% Lifetime Guarantee, so you can buy with confidence.
  • It's proudly made in America. Still Made in the USA, even after all these years. Buy American and save jobs.

Works well on a single electric plug in burner I have at work. I forgot one day and it was boiling like mad for about 10 minutes before I got to it, and nothing happens and didnt fount no issues after that. I use it to make tea, and I like that it has a strainer type top that will hold back tea bags.

Product Rating :
I've had this teapot for a couple months and have used it every day. I'm happy with it. I have a glass-top range and put the teapot directly on the smallest element and set the heat between medium and medium high. Perhaps a higher setting would be okay
