Back in 1819, we were known as The Bromwell Brush and Wire Goods Co., and today we’re recognized as the oldest housewares company in the United States—and the nation’s oldest producer of copper goods. The 1822 OG is brought back from the archives for those who value history, authenticity, and unmatched craftsmanship. Hand built from extra-thick, heavy-gauge copper—thicker than any of our other cups—this rugged 13.5 oz. cup features a gritty matte finish that develops a rich, masculine patina with time. Entirely hand constructed (no assembly lines, dies, or machines), each cup is unique, with subtle variations that speak to its authenticity.   • Is it safe to drink from a copper cup without a tin lining?
  • Nearly all Jacob Bromwell® copper products feature our historically-correct and proprietary hot-tinned interior. That said, a handful of our copper products are not lined, including the Fluted Shot Glasses and most recently The 1822 OG. Contrary to popular belief, you can safely drink from a copper cup without lining provided it is done in moderation and the cup is cleaned immediately after use. It is highly advised to avoid drinking acidic beverages from unlined copper cups, as acidic beverages can be potentiall harmful.
